I’ve just started into The Artist’s Way by Julie Cameron, and have to say my first Morning Pages were incredibly nice to write! The idea is you write three pages, longhand, every morning, with whatever comes into your head. Stream of consciousness put to paper. It felt good, even though my hand cramped and I was interrupted 14 times :). It tends to get your thoughts rolling, and ironed out so you can even see what they are. I’ll let you know how it goes.
One of the exercises for the week is to make a list of some professions I’d love to do, other than my current one(s). That seems easy … marine biologist, jockey, B&B owner, or a full-time backpacking wanderer :). They’re all extremely appealing to me, and some have been for more than 20 years. It’s a good thing to dream, to remind yourself of things that you’ve always wanted to do, despite whatever complications may seem to be in the way.
It’s easy, I’m sure it is, just rattle them off the top of your head …. what things have you always wanted to do/be?
