Summer is upon us here in the Northeast U.S., in every sense of the word. Long hot days, short muggy nights, and oodles of things to choose from for entertainment. No matter where you live, the options are more abundant in summer, aren’t they? Concerts, water play, beaches, walks, fireflies, cookouts, hiking, sports … it’s the time to soak it all in. I find it easy to get lost in the day-to-day, and forget to plan some bigger things to look forward to.
We’re headed to Illinois to camp with my family in late August, and plotting a birthday/bbq in a few weeks for Fynn’s 4th, but have no other fixed plans really. I hope to throw my boys in the public pool as often as possible to get their swimming up to speed, and fit in my marathon training somewhere in the coolish morning hours. Memories will be made one way or another, and I hope we do enough spontaneous things to keep us all on our toes.
What are your summer plans? Lying low and close to home, big trips, or somewhere in between?
