Friday Roundup

I’m beat.  It’s been a long week, and I can’t say I feel like I conquered it, but I survived it.  Some weeks that’s all I ask for :).  A few snippets to share …

The WC is no longer (big heavy sigh) so my blogroll has grown once again as I follow some of my fave writers from there.  A choice sample from the Minnestota Matron on shopping, ER joys, and family.

This amazes me.  365 dresses in 365 days for 365 dollars.  There are a lot of crazy “challenge” niche blogs cropping up, more than one (like this one) inspired by Julie & Julia no doubt, but I think this one is phenomenal.  Perhaps my budding desire to make altered clothes is part of the attraction (does one reshaped sweatshirt make me a seamstress?  Not yet … ) but she’s a wizard with scissors and thread and bottom-barrel-goodwill finds.  Now to find a way to keep my sewing machine out of the closet, where it doesn’t require a major unearthing to put it to use!

Tomatoes and Garlic and Basil, oh my!  Spied at Possum Living.  What says summer better than tomatoes and mozarella and fresh basil?  Not much in my book!  Looking forward to getting my first fresh tomatoes at the market in the morning, part of our Saturday ritual.

Ran my first intervals this morning, trying to psych myself into marathon training mode.  It worked in one way, I remembered all the pain of training 2 years ago!  I’ve found a buddy for a long run on Sunday, and I think doing some long runs with company will be a big help.  By the way, I’m running in these funky shoes, which I get so many questions/comments on I might as well plug them here … they are the MOST comfortable shoes I have ever worn, and I can’t seem to put any other footwear on.  They can be tossed in the washing machine, which is a huge plus for running shoes in my book at least!

Have a great weekend!
