I’m once again wrangling with what to do for school, and though we’re signed up for September, I’m not so happy. I’m having fleeting thoughts of pulling my 2nd grader out and home-schooling him, but think that at this late notice it’s foolhardy unless I do some more thinking and planning! So he’ll go off to public NYC school for the time being, and spend lots of time learning less than I’d like. I don’t want to get into an educational debate, though I love to hear thoughts, but at this point I’m looking for a quick survey : What kind of school do/did/will your kids go to, or what direction are you leaning? Public, private, unschooling, homeschooling, Montessori, Waldorf, “progressive” public, etc. I probably have more choices here in NYC than almost anywhere in the world, but I’m still on the fence and very curious. I’d love to know why too, if you care to share the thoughts behind it!
